How Can We Love?
All too often today you
will hear people speak of a powerless love. Love is often said to be something that we
muster up from within ourselves. Love is something we extend to those that are worthy of
our affections. It is something that has been earned by others. But the Love of God is
nothing like the world's concept of love. God loves us all with a love that transcends
life itself. Through Jesus Christ we can all have "redemption, the forgiveness of
sins." (Col 1:14 NIV)
God redeems us and then
He empowers us "with power" to love!
Ephesians chapter 3,
verses 7-21 says, "I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given
me through the working of his power. Although I am less than the least of all God's
people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of
Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages
past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. His intent was that now, through the
church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in
the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ
Jesus our Lord. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and
confidence. I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you,
which are your glory.
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family
in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may
strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell
in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep
is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be
filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or
imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." (NIV)
Through the power of the Holy
Spirit, you have a new power from God - empowering you to love! The greatest gift God
gives is His power of Love! Love to forgive sins committed against you. Love to forgive
yourself. God's Love gives you new thoughts and new emotions to replace the old thoughts
and old emotions with a brand new, changed from within, you!
Are you tired of living with
bitterness and anger controlling your life? Are you having trouble putting your past
behind you and moving on to an abundant life? Do the abuses you experienced throughout
your life have a strangle hold over you? There is hope! Jesus Christ promises to give you
an abundant life!
Jesus said in Luke 4:18-19,
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to
the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for
the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (NIV)
Are you a prisoner of your past?
Have you been blinded by the belief that your life can never change? If Jesus isn't the
leader of your life right now, why not let Him prove Himself to you? He loves you beyond
all that you can imagine. He even died for you! If Jesus is the leader and forgiver of
your life, claim these verses today and know that you have been given a new life and a new
power from God himself to Love! His Love will transform you. All you have to do is ask!
